Elliott Abrutyn and Thomas G. Rantas won summary judgment for their insurer client, Essex Insurance Company, in the matter of Reeves v. Peak Development Corp. In its written decision, the Trial Court dismissed the claims asserted against Essex because there was no evidence that the parties seeking coverage were named as additional insureds. In addition, the Trial Court found that there was no evidence of apparent authority to bind Essex to the actions of a retail broker that allegedly made representations regarding the provision of additional insured coverage.
