Joseph DeDonato Selected as 2014 New York Metro Super Lawyer

Kathleen A. Hart Reappointed to District IIA Ethics Committee

MMA commends Kathleen A. Hart on her reappointment by the Supreme Court of New Jersey to the District IIA (Bergen County) Attorney Ethics Committee. The district ethics committees investigate and prosecute ethics cases involving New Jersey attorneys. As a volunteer member of the committee, Kathleen will conduct investigations of grievances docketed by the committee during the 2014 to 2018 term.

MMA Achieves Summary Judgment on Behalf of Insurer Client in Declaratory Judgment Action

Elliott Abrutyn and Thomas G. Rantas won summary judgment for their insurer client, Essex Insurance Company, in the matter of Reeves v. Peak Development Corp. In its written decision, the Trial Court dismissed the claims asserted against Essex because there was no evidence that the parties seeking coverage were named as additional insureds. In addition, the Trial Court found that there was no evidence of apparent authority to bind Essex to the actions of a retail broker that allegedly made representations regarding the provision of additional insured coverage.

Arthur J. Raimon and Patrick D. Tobia to Present at Advanced Collection Law Seminar

The National Business Institute selected Arthur J. Raimon and Patrick D. Tobia as presenters for its Advanced Collection Law Seminar. The seminar will take place in Newark on November 12, 2014.

Art will be speaking about collection law challenges and recovery techniques, including the domestication of foreign judgments, post-judgment collection strategies and post-judgment discovery of assets. Pat will be discussing construction debt and various topics relating to New Jersey Construction Lien Law.
