MMA Obtains No Cause on Behalf of State of New Jersey in CEPA/LAD Case

After two months of trial, Leonard C. Leicht and Jeffrey S. Leonard obtained a no cause of action verdict on behalf of the State of New Jersey. At the close of Plaintiff’s case, the Trial Court dismissed all claims allegedly racial discrimination under the LAD, as Plaintiff did not set forth a prima facie case. After closings, the jury rejected Plaintiff’s claim that the State of New Jersey retaliated against him for disclosures allegedly protected by CEPA.
